Maryland requires that all license applicants regardless
of age, who have never been licensed by Maryland
or any other jurisdiction, must satisfactory complete
a driver education course of 30 hours of classroom
instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel (In
Car) instruction.
Classroom Instruction-
Classroom instruction consists of 30 hours. The
class instruction divided into 10 three-hour sessions,
usually Monday though Friday.
All 30 hours must be completed
in order to satisfactory complete the course.

In car Instruction- Maryland also requires 6
hours of behind the wheel (In car) instruction.
Behind the Wheel Instruction consists of basic
maneuvers, defensive driving techniques, and road
driving in a variety of environments. Students
must pass the performance criteria for each lesson.
Behind the Wheel Instruction will be scheduled
after the thirty classroom instruction hours.

Courts
or an Administrative Law Judge may refferal individuals
to the Driver Improvement Program. Indivivuals attending must bring with
them the MVA refferal letter to the course.
The program consists of a four to six hour classroom
course approved by the MVA. In order to complete
the course student must pass the final exam with
a score of 80 percent or better.
Uncle Sam Driving School also offers the Driver
Improvement Course to be taken online, and offers students the liberty
of takeing the course at their own pace, and time.
Classroom
3-Hour Alcohol and Drug Education Program
Description:
If you
are an applicant for a Maryland driver’s license
you must complete the 3-hour alcohol and drug education
program before you can receive the license if you:
currently possess a driver’s license from
the U.S. armed forces ONLY; or
currently possess a driver's license from another
country.
Note that persons who currently possess a driver’s
license from another state in the United States,
a U.S. territory, Canada or the Yukon territory
do not have to attend this program.

New drivers must complete a 60 hours MVA log of
in car driving under the supervision of a licensed
driver. Uncle Sam Driving School offers private
lessons to help our students complete their MVA
60 hours log book.
Private In Car Instruction is offered to all students
of all ages and levels. We train beginners, and
students who just need extra practice. Our professional
instructors can guide you through skill enhancement
and safe driving habit development.
You can Schedule your MVA driving test with Uncle
Sam Driving School. You will be be accompanied to
the nearest MVA test site by a qualified instructor
who will assist through the process. We will make
sure you have all your required paper work before
going to the MVA. You can also request the use of
our vehicles for the Road/Driving test.
MVA requires that applicants pass a law/knowledge
exam before receiving their Driver’s Permit.
